This pantomime saw a step forward in our props department, with market stalls and an elaborate cave decor complete with stalagmites and atmospheric lighting. Two genies and the wicked Jaffar completed the effect and although the magic carpet never did get its cue right, this was more than compensated by the support of the excellent Kebanna Dance group dancing to Pharrell Williams and Shakira. We had two videos in this performance telling the story of Aladdin’s monkey Abu’s arrest and release from jail, involving the local police, the mayoress, a toy store and a grúa (pick-up truck).
